Distribution group Encon becomes an official supporter of the Rainy Day Trust.
Specialist distributor the Encon Group has linked up with the Rainy Day Trust to help support former workers in the home improvement industry.
The group and its subsidiaries Encon Insulation, the specialist insulation distributor, and Nevill Long, the interior systems specialist, has become an official partner of the charity which is experiencing a steady and disturbing increase in applications for assistance from people who have had their working lives cut short due to illness.
An estimated one million current and past employees from the home improvement and enhancement industries are currently eligible for help so Encon’s partnership contribution comes at a time of particular need.
The Rainy Day Trust is the only charity which exists solely to help people who have worked in the UK’s home improvement and enhancement industry which includes businesses such as builders’ merchants, DIY shops, hardware stores, garden centres and cook shops as well as the manufacturers, distributors and retailers which supply them.
Run by a board of trustees comprising suppliers, retailers, wholesalers, trade associations and the trade press, the charity is already supported by many associations and organisations.
