Aggregate Industries has partnered with three other members of the Supply Chain Sustainability School to deliver a full day seminar on the sustainability challenges within the built environment value chain.
The event, held at Langtree Park stadium in St Helens, was attended by 150 key decision makers from across the sector, who are actively involved in promoting sustainability best practice procedures and finding like-minded supply chain partners – an ethos supported by Aggregate Industries, as Donna Smart, Head of Sustainability, explains:
“As a founding member of the Supply Chain Sustainability School we have been actively involved in the promotion of sustainable best practice and responsible supply chain management since the initiative began in 2012.
“Playing a key role in the school is just one way in which Aggregate Industries works to tackle the wider sustainability challenges faced by our industry. Events like this help us to connect with other like-minded businesses both above and below us in the supply chain, so that together we can promote a more environmentally responsible route to market for our products.”
Speaking alongside Aggregate Industries on the day, in a format designed to represent a typical built environment supply chain, were United Utilities, international engineering enterprise, Lang O’Rouke and facilities management specialists EMCOR.

The Supply Chain Sustainability School has 10,000 members across 34 partnering companies and represents a common approach to tackling sustainability challenges within the supply chain.
