Tarmac launches campaign to inspire people to make their mark in construction

Tarmac, the UK’s leading sustainable building materials and construction solutions company, has launched a new recruitment campaign set to inspire both those already working in construction and those considering it as a career path.

Called ‘Make Your Mark’, it focuses on the critical role that infrastructure plays in the UK’s economic development and shows how individuals can contribute to delivering construction projects that are critical to the UK’s future success.  At Tarmac, these have included landmark schemes including Wembley Stadium, Blackpool sea defences and Birmingham New Street Station.

The campaign features a new website, social media and a digital recruitment strategy, as well as videos featuring current Tarmac employees, sharing their stories and the wide range of jobs they do.  They explain how their work helps them make their mark – whether it is helping customers to cut carbon and address climate change, play a part in creating iconic buildings, or continuing the transformation of our towns and cities.

Martin Riley, senior vice president, Tarmac, comments:  “Our employees have always been our biggest asset. We are passionate about construction, having played an integral role in shaping Britain’s infrastructure for the past 100 years. We’re now helping our customers respond to the challenges of the 21st century and it’s a hugely exciting time to be in our industry.

“Tarmac has such a diverse range of roles on offer, each of which enable people to genuinely say ‘I made my mark’. It’s a proposition which we think will be very appealing to enthusiastic and high-calibre candidates and we look forward to hearing from them.”

Tarmac recently announced that it will be recruiting a record 37 people to its graduate training scheme this year, as well as continuing its annual commitment to offer a further 80 apprenticeship opportunities across the UK.
