ISG is underway with a fast-track £5.7 million contract for Equinox, the American high performance lifestyle leader, to deliver its second exclusive club in London.
Equinox launched its first UK luxury fitness club in Kensington in 2012 and will open its second venue on St James’s Street in Westminster at the end of this year. With 89 locations across the USA and Canada, Equinox has ambitious expansion plans for the UK, with new clubs planned in key locations.
ISG’s Agility business, which specialises in smart and responsive solutions for fit-out projects under 50,000 sq ft, is transforming three levels of the architecturally listed property. The scheme includes the installation of two new feature spiral staircases between the three floors, adjacent to the club’s reception and lounge area. A 3D printed model of the staircase was used to prove the design concept and enable Equinox to visualise this key element of the project.
Designed by Woods Bagot, the 18,000 sq ft space will combine a backdrop of masterful interior design, with state-of-the-art fitness facilities. The original features of the historical building, including the striking marble archways, will be sensitively restored and showcased in the finished space.
Once opened, members will have access to Equinox’s elite personal trainers, a state-of-the-art strength floor, signature Precision Running Zone and private Pilates studio. The group fitness studio will host cardio, HIIT and yoga classes and the members’ lounge will provide pre and post workout nutrition. A regeneration focused Spa will offer treatments designed to enhance performance with sports massage, cryo and compression therapy.
