CS PROVIDES STRIKING NEW WALL FEATURE FOR NURSING HOME @CSgroupnews

Specialist building product manufacturer, Construction Specialties (CS), donated materials and expertise to give a nursing home’s garden room a stunning makeover.

CS’ staff provided hours of free time to carry out the refurbishment at Fremantle Court nursing home in Stoke Mandeville, Aylesbury. As part of the company’s ‘Good to Give’ community programme, the volunteers created a striking feature wall in the home’s garden room, a ‘quiet space’ overlooking a courtyard. It was a return visit for CS’ volunteers, who called at the home in March to add a touch of colour to tired-looking outdoor furniture.

The wall was created using CS Acrovyn By Design® Bespoke Wall Covering. This innovative system allows designers to incorporate graphics, patterns and photography behind a layer of clear, impact-resistant Acrovyn Sheet to ensure the wall remains damage-free and easy-to-clean. For the Freemantle Court installation, the wall’s summery montage – which was selected in conjunction with residents – includes a white garden fence, pink roses and purple salvias.

Ken Hart, Vice President of CS, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of volunteering at Fremantle Court. It’s really important to us as a business to invest time in supporting local organisations and to give back. It was great to see the smiles on everyone’s faces and we hope the transformed space continues to bring lots of joy to residents and their families.”

CS also supplied its Wallsheen, a durable wall and ceiling coating, tinted in a colour complementing the image. This easy-to-apply water-based acrylic system not only adds a bright new sheen to the garden room, its anti-microbial properties protect against bacteria and fungi throughout the system’s long design life, and its durable surface can be easily cleaned.

Sue Faulkner, Community and Lifestyle Manager at The Fremantle Trust, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and goodwill from volunteers at CS. Residents are looking forward to spending quality time in the garden room, as it’s such a bright, welcoming space.”
