RSK’S GEOTECHNICAL PROVISION EXPANDS AS TECHNIK GROUND SOLUTIONS JOINS THE GROUP @RSKGroup

RSK Group Ltd, a leading integrated environmental, engineering and technical services business, has today acquired specialist geotechnical contractor TechnikGS. With innovation at its core, TechnikGS provides mini piling, micro piling and quality geotechnical solutions for foundation and ground engineering problems.

Established in 2011, the business has offices in Runcorn, London and Glasgow, UK, and works with a variety of clients, including construction companies, developers, structural engineers, multidisciplinary consulting engineers and architects. TechnikGS operates across all industry sectors, in particular construction, energy, utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing, petrochemical, distribution and defence.

As RSK’s tenth acquisition of the 2021/2022 financial year, TechnikGS brings another string to RSK’s bow as it strives towards its strategic aim of bringing services in-house to provide a comprehensive end-to-end offering for its clients.

Synergies

TechnikGS has a strong focus on providing sound, cost-effective engineering solutions for complex foundation and geotechnical applications. Both RSK and TechnikGS look forward to the knowledge-sharing opportunities that will result from this partnership. Furthermore, RSK’s existing group of businesses will provide extensive support to TechnikGS’s geotechnical testing and ground investigations.

The acquisition will enable further synergies to develop between RSK group businesses and TechnikGS, which offers specialist engineer-led services that will enhance RSK’s geotechnical capabilities.

Leadership

TechnikGS’s existing management team of Graham Lewis, Paul Whinfield, Kevin Christie and Paul Woodfield will continue to lead the business. It will become part of RSK’s Geosciences and Engineering division and will gain the backup and direction of George Tuckwell, Divisional Director.

Graham Lewis comments, “We are delighted to join the RSK group and look forward to working with our RSK sister companies. Our values are shared by RSK, and this acquisition will provide a platform for continuous improvement and structured growth. We are excited about the new opportunities and challenges ahead.”

RSK Chief Executive Officer and founder Alan Ryder adds, “TechnikGS will undoubtedly be a strong addition to our offering and will expand and strengthen our geotechnical provision. We already have a good relationship with the business through existing RSK group companies and we know the high-quality and innovative solutions that it can provide.”

RSK is actively investing in the development of new businesses and bolt-on acquisitions, as well as equipment and facilities, to provide full-service solutions to a wide, international client base. Based on its current trajectory and strategy, the business anticipates that by 2025 it will be delivering an annual turnover of £1 billion and will employ 10,000 people around the world.
