Bauer Technologies, a subsidiary of the BAUER Group, has been awarded the contract to install tubular steel combi wall king piles, for the new quay wall development, South Bank Quays on the River Tees. The scheme, which when complete will support the operation of the Dogger Bank Wind Farm, which is destined to be the largest offshore wind farm in the world.
Specifically, the contract awarded by GRAHAM, on behalf of client South Tees Development Cooperation, requires Bauer Technologies to install 156nr 1.8m diameter tubular steel combi wall king piles, within 2000mm diameter bores, up to 27m deep.
In addition, Bauer Technologies will be undertaking an extensive programme of rotary bored and CFA pre-boring works for the combi wall sheet pile infill walls and rear sheet pile anchor wall, as well as installing 410nr rotary bored bearing piles, at 900 and 780mm diameter, up to 30m, as part of the heavy lift platform.
Works will be undertaken using 2 x BG45 and 2 x BG30 rotary bored rigs, together with 2 x CFA rigs, with the project taking approximately 6 months to complete having begun in February 2022.
