GeN+1 announces a new impact sponsor, DPI, who is committed to nurturing talent and providing exceptional career development opportunities through their apprenticeship programs

With National Apprenticeship Week Last Week, and what better time to announce an exciting new partnership between GeN+1 and DPI. This year, DPI joins GeN+1 as an impact sponsor, supporting their ambitious 2025 vision and helping to empower the next generation.

Datalec Precision Installations provide world-class, global data centre solutions, specialising in Mechanical, Electrical, IT infrastructure connectivity cabling, bespoke manufacturing, construction, and installation services. They offer unmatched technical expertise for the mission critical environments, offering consultancy, technical and critical cleaning, electronic security, and managed services to address every data centre need.

“We are absolutely delighted to have DPI on board as impact sponsors for GeN+1 this year. Their commitment to the next generation through career development and apprenticeship programs is exceptional and aligns with our own mission at GeN+1. We look forward to an exciting year of collaboration, as we develop and work together to achieve our ambitious targets.” Richard Irwin, Co-Founder GeN+1.

Stuart Richmond, Group Director states, “We as a business are aware of the challenges facing young people when not only trying to find a career but also meeting likeminded people of the same age. Next GeN+1 is giving them opportunity to meet with fellow peers and we feel that this will also give them the platform to develop skills they will use in their years to come.”

DPI is deeply committed to nurturing talent; they provide exceptional career development opportunities through their apprenticeship programs. The primary focus is on apprenticeships for technicians in electrical, connectivity, electronic security and engineering roles, ensuring they train a highly skilled workforce for the future.

In addition to technical apprenticeships, DPI also offer a limited number of corporate apprenticeships in commercial and HR functions. Currently, they have six apprentices within the business, with more set to join in September. As part of the growth strategy, DPI is always looking to expand their apprenticeship offerings and welcome new talent to the company.

The scheme caters to apprentices at various levels, from Level 3 to Level 7, providing a structured pathway for career progression. The ultimate goal is to retain apprentices beyond their training, integrating them into the business as part of the long-term succession planning.

“If I had to sum up being an apprentice briefly in 3 words: Challenging but rewarding. It’s been a very fast-paced working environment with varying tasks that have taught me a variety of skills that I apply in my professional life as well as my personal. I’ve settled in well with my team, who have helped immensely as it was all new to me, which I’m very thankful for. Finding the balance between Work and University can be a struggle, however getting into routines is the best way to play it. I’ve certainly gained lots of experience in a very short amount of time, and I’m excited to see what’s next!” Reef Cole. Apprentice Quantity Surveyor

“At Datalec Precision Installations, we believe our people are our greatest asset. We are dedicated to nurturing talent through our apprenticeship programs, which equip individuals with essential skills and experience.

Investing in our employees’ growth ensures a skilled workforce and the long-term success of our company. Embracing a culture of continuous development, we drive our core values of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

Supporting the next generation of talent is crucial to our mission. By investing in our people, we invest in the future of Datalec Precision Installations.”
