BriggsAmasco is among the finalists at this year’s Liquid Roofing & Waterproofing Association (LRWA) awards, with two of its projects being nominated for a coveted industry honour.

The annual contest recognises the finest liquid roofing quality, professionalism, workmanship and dedication. Leading waterproofing and roofing contractor BriggsAmasco, in conjunction with specialist manufacturer IKO, has been nominated in two categories: Liquid Roofing Project of the Year in a Buried Application, and Sustainability Project of the Year.
Tony Lawther, BriggsAmasco Managing Director, said: “Our managers and installers are renowned for their expert delivery across a range of complex and challenging applications. Their liquid roofing experience, in conjunction with our manufacturing partners, really came to the fore in the projects in which we’ve been shortlisted. The nominations also reflect our dedication to energy-efficient practices and outcomes, which is very gratifying.”
BriggsAmasco’s delivery of a multiple roofing installation at Oxford University’s Life and Mind Building has been shortlisted in LWRA’s ‘Liquid Roofing Project of the Year in a Buried Application’ category.
The 25,000m² teaching and research facility unites the university’s biology and experimental psychology departments. BriggsAmasco worked with SIG Roofing and their specialist specification division, AccuRoof, on the £200m site which includes more than 550m2 of roof gardens and planted terraces. The building has capacity for 1,400 scientists, academics, researchers, support staff and postgraduate students.
In the Sustainability Project of the Year category, BriggsAmasco’s nomination was attained following a large-scale installation of blue and green roofs at Timber Square. Situated in London’s Bankside near London Bridge, Timber Square is slated to become the UK’s first ‘very large-scale’ net-zero carbon building.
BriggsAmasco’s contribution to the landmark sustainable project was the installation of a 600m2 blue roof and a low-carbon Permatec Li Hot Melt system across 800m2 of green roof space.
Tony continued: “Both projects were a true test of our planning and execution within pressurised environments. Our teams delivered outstanding results, and we thank them for their unwavering commitment. We look forward to seeing their hard work recognised at the awards evening.”
LRWA category winners will be announced at an awards and gala dinner evening being held on Wednesday, March 25th at Liverpool’s Titanic Hotel in Stanley Park.
