RANGE ROOFING SEES RED!

RANGE ROOFING SEES RED!

Leading north-west roofing contractor Range Roofing is seeing red with its latest project- a new hotel at Emirates Old Trafford.

The £12million, 150-bedroomed, five storey four star hotel at the home of Lancashire County Cricket Club is being made weathertight with some 1000m2 of mechanically-fixed Protan SE1.6mm single ply membrane, in red, to reflect the corporate colours of the Club.

Range Roofing’s Peter Faulkner explained, “Project architect Ica specified red single ply for the roof. We have a long-standing relationship with Protan, built on a cost-effective, quality product and great technical support. In partnership with the developer Galliford Try we agreed Protan SE1.6mm would be appropriate for the hotel at Emirates Old Trafford, meeting the stringent quality and durability criteria required to help achieve best value.”

Protan SE single ply membrane, available in 1.2mm, 1.6mm and 1.8mm, is certified to deliver, and potentially surpass, the energy efficiency requirements laid down in Approved Document L, and, under the Green Guide, achieve a A+ rating. Hot-air welded at joints and mechanically fixed to the roof, the membrane achieves durability in excess of 30 years, with air leakage controlled/minimised in line with latest Building Regulations.

Protan SE is one element of the company’s comprehensive range of single ply roofing solutions, covered at www.protan.co.uk, all designed to protect value for specifier and contractor. All Protan membranes are fully BBA certified.

Established some 75 years ago, and still privately-owned, Protan is one of the top 3 membrane manufacturers in Europe. Protan, a member of SPRA, offers a full support service, from a RIBA-certified CPD programme, NBS specification and in-house CAD design through to technical advice and variable warranty depending on specification is provided from the company’s UK offices and training facilities in Warrington.
