Wildgoose's highest value build officially opens @Wildgoose1896

A new state-of-the art centre for a UK and European car auction company built by Derbyshire firm Wildgoose Construction has been officially opened.

Wildgoose Construction was the main build contractors on British Car Auction’s new auction centre in Birmingham.

Work on the 20 acre former shipping container base in Perry Barr started in October 2015, taking 47 weeks to complete and it was officially opened last week.

The project involved the creation of a new purpose built site including office, sales centre, workshops, restaurant and valet area.

There are also three auction lanes and a digital auction suite as well as parking for more than 800 cars at the site.

The contract value was a record high £8m for Wildgoose, which is based in King Street in Alfreton. goose 2

Contracts Manager for Wildgoose Construction Lyndon Bowler, who was site manager for the project, said: “It was a big project and situated on such a vast site where we had several builds going on at the same time so it was important to get the logistics right.

“As a company, we are very used to big industrial and commercial projects featuring a mixture of build types.

“It was a biggest value contract to date and demonstrates that we have the capacity and capability to deliver these types of projects successfully and it has really pushed us on to the next level.

“We’ve also had excellent feedback from the client, who is very happy with the end result. We attended the first auction, one of the biggest they’ve ever held, and were also able to get customer views as well which was very positive.”

After the success of the project Wildgoose has gone on to secure further work for BCA.
