EXCLUSIVE album artwork for Power Bollards – set to go down in history as THE seminal street furniture album – has been unveiled.
Whispers among hard core street furniture aficionados can be confirmed – Townscape Products has created an album that pays homage to some of the most iconic anthems of all time.
Power Bollards boasts a raft of classics including ‘Gimme Cycle Shelter’, ‘There is a Street Light That Never Goes Out’ and ‘I Would Put Anything in Bins (But I’ll Recycle That)’.
The concept was the brain child of street furniture veteran Jimmy Bollard, curator of creative content at Nottingham-based street furniture manufacturer Townscape and its sister site Bollards HQ.
He said:
“There was much discussion in the studio about the sort of album we wanted to make, and tempers sometimes frayed – but I guess that’s what happens when true artists collide.
“At one point we considered a rave-infused marathon-mixtape of bollard-based bangers. It really was a melting pot of creativity.
“In the end we decided we had to be true to our roots – to create something that would stand the test of time – that we could look back on in 20 years with pride. So here we are with Power Bollards.”
As part of the launch Townscape is offering three framed 12-inch versions of the album artwork.
Fans are being asked to tweet their best street-furniture song puns using the #powerbollards.
Everyone who suggest a song name will be in with a chance of winning the artwork.
Jimmy Bollard added:
“Someone once told me that street furniture could never be rock and roll. I wouldn’t like to be that person today.”
