The Nottingham based firm is building a £9m bespoke 62-bed nursing home called Oakham Grange, in Rutland, which is set to open in early 2020 and will create up to 200 jobs.
This is the first nursing home to be built by family owned Ardale Ltd and the three-level building on Wheatfield Way, Oakham, will feature ‘interesting design touches’ like a putting green.
Clegg Construction is also on site, building a nursing home on Farley Way, in Quorn, Leicestershire for Care UK.
When complete, the new care facilities will provide full-time residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 64 older people including Frail and Younger People living with Dementia (YPD) and will create over 90 full-time jobs.
The two-storey home is expected to welcome the first residents in autumn 2020, and will include facilities such as a cinema, café and hairdressing salon.
Secure and wheelchair-friendly landscaped outdoor space will include sensory gardens, water features and seating to give residents the opportunity to spend quality time outdoors.
Simon Blackburn, managing director at Clegg Construction, said: “We are proud to be involved in both of these projects which will create excellent facilities for the older population in both areas. We are delighted to be working with Ardale on their first nursing home and with Care UK.”
Lesa McAnulty, Chief Operating Officer at Ardale, said: “Ardale may be a new name to the healthcare sector but behind the name is a senior team with many years nursing care and expertise.
“Ardale are on a mission to deliver care and support that is meaningful to each individual; with the warmth and personality that only a family owned company can create.’
Claire Ellam, development project manager for Care UK, said: “We are delighted to have started work on the new care home in Quorn, and are looking forward to improving the provision of residential care in the village and surrounding area.
“At Care UK, we take great pride in the build quality, layout and design of each individual home, as these factors can greatly impact the everyday experiences of those living in a care environment. Our new care home will live up to these standards, and will provide a quality home for older people across Leicestershire and beyond.”
