03 March 2021 London; Workspace Show, the exciting event bringing together the commercial interiors community with its inaugural event taking place over the 4-5 November this year at London’s Business Design Centre, has launched its ‘Spotlight Series’ of thought leadership debates, starting with ‘Spotlight on Sustainability Standards’ which will take place on the 17th March at 11am via Zoom.
From BREEAM to LEED and encompassing WELL and even WiredScore, are these certifications fit for purpose in a post-Covid world in terms of tracking building performance? And how will new players in the field such as IMMUNE play their part in achieving the reassurance of building quality that all stakeholders in the property, architecture and design worlds are so keen to promote?
All the above will be discussed at the Spotlight on Sustainability Standards event, which will be moderated by Editorial & Content Consultant Helen Parton and featuring expert insights from industry specialists who make up the Workspace Show Advisory Board.
Georgia Elliott-Smith, UN Special Junior Envoy for Youth and the Environment, and Managing Director of Element 4, is just one of our exciting industry experts. An environmental engineer and a chartered environmentalist, Georgia is involved in speaking to thousands of young people around the world on environmental issues. She has worked with organisations such as the Bank of England, Nike, LandSec, Deloitte, Accenture, Mace and DEFRA to deliver more sustainable projects and business practices.
Also joining the expert panel is Kate Vine, Principal at Perkins + Will. With over 20 years of experience as an interior designer, Kate’s strengths lie in her exemplary communication skills, working with clients to develop solutions for innovative ways of working to support a business’s needs. Kate is a specialist in workplace strategy, utilising Perkins + Will’s data systems and research capabilities to inform her work and guide clients through the latest trends in the workplace. Kate has worked with a range of global firms defining their workplace including Microsoft, Deloitte, Penguin Random House and WarnerMedia.
Natasha Bonugli, Global Principal of Design at Unispace also joins the panel. She has a vast array of experience in workplace design that crosses continents. Trained as an architect in the US and RIBA Part 3 qualified in the UK, she has spent the majority of her 18-year career focusing on the design and delivery of interior projects of all scales.
Based in London for over 15 years, she has managed and developed several high-performance design teams to deliver award winning schemes across the globe. As Unispace’s Global Principal Design, Natasha provides creative design direction to all studios across the Northern Hemisphere, driving design excellence across the business.
May Fawzy, Founder at MF Interiors will also provide her expert insights to the discussion. Bringing value, innovation and creative thinking are the main design pillars for May. As the founder and Interior Architecture Director of MF DesignStudio, May focuses on creating office environments that are flexible, sustainable and inspiring for the individuals and the community. With over 17 years’ experience in commercial workplace interiors and as a director of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID), May is a mentor to young designers, introducing them to the world of commercial interior design.
