The Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) is pleased to announce a new membership category – Reinforcement Suppliers – within its Associate Membership programme.
The move to include Reinforcement Suppliers as part of its Associate Membership Programme, forms part of the FPS’s aim to fully represent the geotechnical sector and those working closely or supplying to the piling industry.
Several Reinforcement Suppliers have already come forward to join the FPS as Associate Members, which is subject to them meeting or exceeding the strict criteria laid down within the FPS audit.
Speaking about the new Associate Membership category, Steve Hadley, FPS Chair said: “Reinforcement Suppliers play a significant role in the work undertaken by the piling industry and it is therefore appropriate we extend membership to include them. With the FPS audit underpinning successful membership, it not only demonstrates their commitment to achieving ever higher standards of safety and professionalism but will give FPS members and the wider construction industry confidence in the work they undertake.”
New Reinforcement Suppliers members will also bring a wealth of knowledge and experience of working within their arm of the geotechnical industry, which will help the FPS better draft future guidance and standards documentation.
Since its launch FPS Associate Membership has grown to include companies from almost all sectors of the wider geotechnical industry, recognising that their addition strengthens the Federation’s knowledge base giving it a more authoritative voice in the construction sector.
The widening of the membership category to include Reinforcement Suppliers, also helps the FPS lobby more effectively at both industry and government levels on issues such as health and safety, training, and fair payment.
