Local Charity Building Heroes have been selected as Finalists for the Small Business Award and the Veterans Foundation Award at the Heropreneurs Awards 2021.
The Heropreneurs Awards were established in 2018 to celebrate and recognise the energy, passion and dedication of our British Armed Forces Community looking to forge a new path in business. In previous years, the event took place at Plaisterers Hall in London. However, due to the pandemic, this year, the event will be a virtual ceremony in November, allowing us to still celebrate the exceptional achievements within the community.
Building Heroes, based in West Sussex, delivers training across England at twelve training locations. The charity provides skills and support to Service-leavers, Veterans, and Military families, which can lead to employment or self employment. They aim to provide a construction gateway, specifically amongst those who have kept us safe, by offering them a seamless transition into a new career in the trade sector.
Karen Jefford, Chief Operations Officer, said: “We are honoured to be finalists in two categories for such a virtuous event that commends the incredible dedication of our Country’s Service-leavers and Veterans. The team here at Building Heroes is committed to supporting personnel in their transition back to civilian life.”
Building Heroes have helped over 1500 service leavers and Veterans across the UK, to gain skills, which lead to diplomas and qualifications, whilst opening doors for job opportunities.
Good luck to all Finalists, we look forward to finding the winners, announced in November.
