Central Alliance has completed the acquisition of Electrokinetic Limited and is delighted to have been able to make this important business diversification move.
Electrokinetic Limited provides innovative solutions for remediating unstable slopes and dewatering slurries and sludges, using patented EKG (Electrokinetic Geosynthetics) technology. The EKG slope stabilisation system is an adaptable, multifunctional, and low-impact construction approach. It combines electroosmotic ground improvement, enhanced reinforcement and both active and passive drainage, into a single solution. EKG Dewatering Bags combine electroosmosis and hydraulic filtration, providing dewatering of materials in containment filtration bags.
Speaking about the acquisition, Richard Pidcock, joint Managing Director, Central Alliance, said: “The synergy between the two companies and Central Alliance’s experience in slope access, made the acquisition a logical next step for both businesses and all of our customers. Creating a more diverse and resilient business serving the whole construction cycle, that addresses the needs of our clients and with particular focus on asset resilience to climate change, is key to our strategy. The acquisition is in line with our technology led approach, and with a number of innovative Electrokinetic R&D projects in the pipeline, this is an exciting time for both businesses.”
John Lamont-Black, Technical Director of Electrokinetic added ‘We have worked on projects with Central Alliance going back to 2016 and becoming part of the team and the wider RSK Group now allows us to provide a turnkey design and build solution for our clients. This will be an important step forwards to accelerate the growth of the business and acceptance of our solutions as a viable, more sustainable alternative to conventional stabilisation techniques and solutions.’
