The British Drilling Association (BDA) is pleased to announce it has appointed Paul McMann its new Chair.
Paul McMann, presently UK and Overseas Operations Director at Dunelm Geotechnical and Environmental Limited, replaces Richard Fielden, who steps down having completed his statutory two-year tenure at the helm.
Already Chair of the BDA Training & Education Sub-committee, Paul will continue supporting the Association by promoting its aims, which include health & safety awareness, raising the standards in the drilling industry and the continued evolution and adoption of the BDA Audit.
Speaking about his new role as Chair of the BDA, Paul said: “To be appointed Chair of the BDA is a great honour. My passion for people development will also be a strong focus, ensuring that the drilling industry continues to advance and attract people into the sector, which not only offers so many opportunities, but is an extremely rewarding career path too.”
Paul added: “I will also use my position to help continue with the development of industry qualifications and guidance documents, to take the sector to ever higher levels of professionalism, whilst also raising its profile within the wider construction sector.”
A geology graduate from Liverpool John Moores University, Paul started his career in the ground investigation industry, as a Geologist at Soil Mechanics, before moving to Fugro and then to his present role at Dunelm Geotechnical and Environmental Limited.
Paul has been an active member in multiple British Drilling Association (BDA) committees since 2014.
