New civil engineering opportunities in Ireland with the launch of a new office

Whitfield Construction Services (WCS) is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Armagh, Northern Ireland.  As Northern Ireland has a heritage for engineering projects and is becoming recognised as a hub for talented individuals, WCS hopes the creation of a regional office here will provide an opportunity for both young and experienced talent, and encourage their development in civil and structural engineering consultancy.

As with the London office, the team based in Armagh will offer our services for our clients’ power and energy, rail and infrastructure projects.

Asa Whitfield, our Managing Director, commented on the new office: “Over the years, we have developed a responsive, personable and extremely engaged team that is passionate for the kind of company growth that comes as a result of satisfying our clients. This new office will open up opportunities in a new region and enable us to be more flexible in recruitment to continue to attract the high quality staff that WCS is known for.”

A core part of our team, CAD/BIM Manager Dave Crumley, was part of the catalyst for the new office based in Northern Ireland. With over 15 years of experience, Dave has been central in establishing our team of knowledgeable, enthusiastic and proactive designers who add value to infrastructure projects through visualisation, project planning and constructability. Clients consistently feedback to let us know that our capability in this area far exceeds that expected of a design house of our size, and that is testimony to the level of attention and innovation that the team brings.

In addition to opening up the talent pool and working on projects across Ireland, there are other future benefits. With the government’s targets for carbon reduction influencing many infrastructure design choices, this new office also opens up the potential for us to reach some of our sustainability goals. Having an established team in Northern Ireland will potentially reduce Dave’s commute, allowing him to work directly with his team in person while continuing to support the head office and reducing the requirement for travel to London.

The office will be operational from June.
