RSK expands Geosciences and Engineering division with latest acquisition

RSK is delighted to announce it has expanded its Geosciences and Engineering division with the acquisition of Bristol-based chartered engineering firm Milner Associates.

The team of engineers delivers a range of expert engineering consulting services, with expertise in offsite construction and timber structures.

The core team comprises specialist experienced and industry experts with Timber and light steel frame techniques. The company has within the structural timber arena representation on British and European Standards, they are authors of Industry Guidance working with organisations such as BRE, TRADA, NHBC, LABC and ISTructE.

The team provide the Structural Timber Association with technical services with the advisory line and project manage the issue technical papers; covering structural insulated panels, mass timber engineering, engineered timber, fire risk assessment, fire resistance solutions, thermal and acoustic performance. 

The company bring experience in sustainability of design, fire safety in design and defect identification both in new build and historic structures. The company’s consultancy is focused on volumetric engineering, timber product development, checks and inspections, fire risk assessment and forensic engineering.

Just some of their key clients include construction companies such as Barratts, Facit, Speller Metcalfe, Seddon, Taylor Wimpey, Taylor Lane, and Redrow, as well as solicitors and insurance companies.

Milner Associates’ current Managing Director Martin Milner will continue to lead the business as they become part of the RSK company.

Under the RSK umbrella Milner Associates will be able to offer the option for a single point of engagement on projects as required; from foundations, drainage, sustainability and building physics as well as their core expertise in structural timber.
