Leading building products manufacturer Forterra has launched its Specifier Academy providing a significant industry resource for learning and development.
The academy, built for architects and specifiers, is a dedicated area on Forterra’s website filled with information to help strengthen users’ knowledge and highlights particular masonry products to use on projects.

Forterra has designed a brand new Continued Professional Development (CPD) programme that covers practical, and industry focused subjects related to design and construction with masonry products. Many of the courses are approved by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and nearly 100 professionals have registered on the platform since it launched in March. The CPD programme delves into the best practices in clay brick masonry, Forterra’s innovations within its product range, and explores how to adhere to the latest building regulations. The courses are delivered on site or online to make learning as convenient as possible.
Other areas on the academy such as resources, specifying options and inspiration are all designed to help inform the architect whether the products meet the specification requirements of their projects and bring their projects to life. The Inspiration page showcases Forterra’s best architecturally led projects to show what can be achieved using Forterra’s product range.
The Academy will continue to grow with content and case studies published on a regular basis to provide a more in-depth exploration to how a particular product was utilised. Microlearning content, online information articles, have also been introduced for those who struggle to find the time to attend a full CPD programme. There are currently nine microlearning sections within the knowledge hub of the site with more content planned for the future.
Caroline Wildman, Marketing Director at Forterra, said: “We are pleased to offer this extensive learning resource. It’s always good to hear what our customers find useful and we will be expanding this resource as part of a long-term plan to ensure product knowledge is up to date with the latest practices.”
