Inco Contracts marks 15th anniversary with record £60m year

From a one-man start-up to a construction powerhouse

One of the UK’s fastest-growing principal contractors is celebrating its 15th birthday in style after posting a record £60m in revenues.

Inco Contracts, which is headquartered in Cannock and boasts regional bases in Cardiff, Stevenage and Warrington, has grown from a one-man start up to a construction powerhouse delivering hundreds of complex refurbishments projects every year.

Since the management buyout in 2020 by David Cotterill and Sam Norton, the business has accelerated rapidly, expanding its nationwide coverage and creating 21 new jobs across the firm.

These include the appointments of Adam Bidhendy to lead its Cardiff office and Billy Sneddon to drive forward an education division that has already delivered £3m of contracts.

Inco Contracts has also strengthened its internal capability, with new marketing and administration hires to provide the foundations for further growth.

“The last five years have been a whirlwind period for the business, with new office openings and expansion into fresh markets, all complementing our established work in the commercial and industrial sectors,” explained Managing Director David Cotterill.

“Our reputation has been built on taking on projects and delivering them on time, on budget and to the highest possible standard. This has driven both repeat business and new opportunities, and it’s the approach we’ll continue to build the company around.”

He added: “Using this model, we’ve successfully expanded into the North West, the South East and, most recently, Wales and the South West. We expect further office openings over the next twelve months, alongside a strengthened presence in Education and other specialist sectors.”

Today, Inco Contracts works across the industrial, educational, commercial and office fit-out sectors, building an equally impressive reputation for taking on sports complexes and high-profile heritage projects.

Sam Norton, Operations Director, went on to add: “The ‘Inco’ culture is about creating a positive impact in the communities where we operate, and that extends well beyond bricks, mortar and cladding.

“Every member of our 50+ strong team has their own personal development plan, and, through the Inco Foundation, we have supported a wide number of charities over the past five years, raising more than £60,000 in the process.

“This includes a DIY makeover at St Giles Hospice in Lichfield, support for the Motor Neurone Disease Association and, most recently, improvements to children’s play spaces at New Cross Hospital for The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity.”

To close out its 15th-anniversary year, Inco Contracts brought its teams and partners together for a special away day and two supplier golf events in support of its Foundation.

A major awards evening in December will round off what has been a landmark year for the business.
