Bluebay Building Products, an independent distributor of specialist civil engineering and construction products, has announced the promotion of Emma Ward to Commercial Director, following her outstanding first six months in the business.

Emma joined Bluebay in summer 2025 as Sales Director. She has since led and grown a nationwide sales team, played a key role in introducing new products to the UK market, overseen the opening of new depots in Thurrock and Milton Keynes, and been the driving force behind a forthcoming depot in Scotland.
With previous senior roles at Huws Gray Group and Travis Perkins, Emma brought extensive industry experience to Bluebay; she said: “I am overjoyed with this new role and am grateful to Lucy for her support and the confidence she has in me. Bluebay is a fantastic business filled with wonderful people who inspire me to work hard to ensure we deliver.”
“As Commercial Director, my focus will be on strengthening relationships with our customers, with a real focus on our product and service offering and ensuring that we meet the evolving needs of the construction and civil engineering sectors. This includes responding to changes like building safety regulations and the golden thread, while bringing innovative new products to market that support our social value and sustainability commitments.”
Lucy Furnival, Managing Director at Bluebay, added: “We are delighted to promote Emma to Commercial Director. She brings a deep understanding of our sector alongside a strong commercial focus and has already played a pivotal role in driving the business forward. Emma’s contribution to date has been outstanding, and I’m proud to have her alongside me as we continue to grow in 2026 – delivering an industry-leading service and product range, opening new branches, and supporting our long-term ambitions.”
The promotion comes during a transformational period for Bluebay. In 2025, the business was acquired the Wolseley Group, securing significant investment while continuing to operate independently under its existing leadership team. The support has enabled Bluebay to accelerate its growth strategy, including the expansion of its depot network and the strengthening of its national footprint.
Bluebay employs 60 people and operates depots in Thurrock, Milton Keynes Warrington, Gateshead, and Cardiff, with further expansion planned across the UK in 2026.
