Offsite Construction – The Future of House Building

The housing shortage is a ‘hot topic’ and represents both an enormous challenge and a great opportunity for the construction sector. With five Housing Minsters in as many years, it is now hoped that continuity, with the reappointment Brandon Lewis, will make an impact on the housing deficit.

Featuring speakers from pioneering companies in the offsite construction industry, Explore Offsite is your opportunity to get on-board with current thinking, investigate new technologies and explore new opportunities. Taking place on 07 July 2015 in at National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham – the third in the series of events focuses on the housing sector.

There is an urgent need for a mass volume of houses to be constructed rapidly and there is now a significant bank of evidence to demonstrate that offsite construction technologies are the solution.

Speakers include:  Nick Milestone, Managing Director of B & K Structures, who together with Alex Smith, Architect for Hawkins/Brown, will be profiling Banyan Wharf, which at 10 storeys, is set to take the title of the tallest cross laminated timber residential building in Europe. These presenters will be joined by John Skivington, Director of LHC; Adam Greenfield, MD of Nordic Homes and Rory Bergin Partner of HTA Design – al speaking about Modular Buildings for the Private Rental Sector.

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) will be supporting the Explore Offsite event. There is also a wealth of exhibitors who will be available to discuss their latest innovations in offsite construction.
