A leading galvanizing company has played its part in the restoration of an historic look-out tower situated by a quaint river in West Sussex.
In partnership with Walberton-based Geoff Burse Trailers, Wessex Galvanizers, part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, provided its hot dip galvanizing treatment to over four tonnes of steelwork for a staircase in the observation tower at the entrance to the River Arun, which has recently undergone a major refurbishment.
The work took four weeks to complete, with the spiral staircases being designed and fabricated by GB Fabrications before being transported by Geoff Burse Trailers to Wessex Galvanizers for its protective coating.

Galvanizing was specified due to the look-out tower being situated so close to the water and to increase the staircase’s life-span.”
