RGB announces latest Community Fund winner

RGB Building Supplies is delighted to announce that the Conquest Centre is the latest beneficiary of their Well Built Community Fund, which aims to give groups and charities in the region a much needed boost. The centre will be receiving £1,000 worth of building materials from RGB’s Wiveliscombe branch enabling them to build two new field shelters.

Taunton based, the Conquest Centre provides a range of horse related activities to 180 people aged between two and 76 years who have physical and learning disabilities.  Taking part in the activities can help the riders increase mobility, balance, and coordination and enhance self-esteem, confidence and social skills.

The centre is home to 20 horses which spend a lot of time in fields resting, grazing and playing.  The £1,000 worth of building materials will be used to construct two new shelters to provide protection against inclement weather.

Teresa Wort, Fundraiser at the Conquest Centre, commented:

“It’s wonderful to see the therapeutic effect that our horses have on the physical and mental health of our riders and support from local companies like RGB Building Supplies really helps us continue providing the service we do.  We would like to say a huge thank you to them for choosing us as recipients of their Community Fund.”

Ed Livesey, Branch Manager at RGB Wiveliscombe, added:

“We are extremely proud to support the Conquest Centre and enable them to complete a project that they wouldn’t have otherwise been able to. We wish them every success and look forward to making a return visit to see the finished shelters.”
