A local galvanizing company is celebrating a long-standing partnership with a vintage car and wedding vehicle hire specialist which has seen it help expand the company’s diverse portfolio.
Heywood-based Manchester Galvanizers, part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, has worked with Imperial Motor Company for over a decade to provide its hot dip galvanizing treatment to the company’s variety of chassis, with the most recent including a 1930s-inspired Bentley.
“We’re delighted to have worked with Imperial Motor Company for over a decade,” explained Mark Waters, Commercial Manager at Manchester Galvanizing. “We provided our galvanizing treatment to the first Bentley they produced last year and another this year, as well as many high-end wedding cars – which the company has been producing for over 35 years.”
The Preston-based motor company has galvanized hundreds of its steel sub-frames and chassis, which make up the main structure of the vehicles. Each car made from scratch and resembles those from the 1930s era.
John Barlow, Managing Director of Imperial Motor Company, said: “We produce 12 wedding cars a year, and with the success of our first Bentley last year, we’ll be focusing on making one or two of these each year. All of our chassis have to be galvanized to ensure that the main part of the car is protected from weathering and corrosion and remains aesthetically-pleasing for users in the years to follow.”
