Stortford Interiors completes London Bridge Station fit-out project
Specialist architectural interior contractor, Stortford Interiors (UK) completes £4 million interior fit-out project for one of the UK’s biggest transport hubs, London Bridge Station.
Working for Main Contractor Costain, the broad scope of this large infrastructure project covers the fit-out of staff accommodation as well as retail areas and has seen Stortford Interiors deliver its ‘Interior Architectural Packaging Contracting (IAPC)’ offering, which includes in-house joinery division, Parkrose.
A wide product scope has been captured in the sub-contract package, most notably drywall, glass screens, Metsec and joinery, which includes door sets and washroom fit-outs. Initial contract works have been completed, with additional works to customer information points and retail areas expected to be completed by mid-2018.
The project is part of the wider redevelopment of London Bridge Station which will create a sizeably improved station with new platforms and a new concourse for its 56 million annual passengers. The redevelopment is tied into the government-sponsored Thameslink Programme, which aims to improve rail travel through central London at peak times as well as increase rail and passenger capacity at London Bridge Station by 40%.
