Expert in safety, Arco, is celebrating a prestigious contract win with one of the UK’s largest family-owned construction, property services and development company – the Wates Group.
The partnership is worth an estimated £2 million per annum, and will see Arco supply its quality personal protection equipment (PPE) to Wates for the next three years.
Wates employs over 4,000 people, and works with more than 10,000 supply chain operatives and partners, therefore placing a significant need and responsibility on the provision of effective PPE to keep workers safe while carrying out a variety of tasks.
Arco is perfectly positioned to fulfil the PPE requirements of Wates, and will be providing high-quality products that have been rigorously tested in Arco’s own independently accredited Product Assurance Laboratory, and that also comply with Arco’s ethical sourcing policy.
Bryan Lawrie, Sales and Marketing Director at Arco Ltd, said:
“We are thrilled to be working with Wates; not only because the company is a construction industry market leader, but also because a great synergy exists between Arco and Wates. Both are family-owned businesses with a real focus on upholding core values, such as integrity, intelligence, teamwork and performance, as well as a deep respect for employees and the community. This commitment is demonstrated by each company holding the ‘Investors in People’ status.”
John Dunne, Group Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Director at Wates, said:
“Wates has a wide remit within the built-environment sector and has a duty of care to protect all employees from harm. We have made a commitment to Zero Harm by 2020 across all our businesses. Working with leading suppliers like, Arco will help us to safeguard our employees with clothing and equipment which will protect them during the working day.”
