A team of golfers from Keyline, and one of its suppliers Wavin, took part in a Longest Day Golf Challenge on Wednesday 21st June raising a fantastic £2,000 for Keyline’s chosen charity Prostate Cancer UK and also Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Keyline team was made up of Mitch Harris, Marc Turner, Maurice Joy and Carl Hollowell, and Stuart Pluck, Nick Welsh, Sean Hayes and Chris Jones represented Wavin.
The players teed-off at 5.20am and completed 72 holes at Southern Valley Golf Club in Gravesend. After walking approximately 20 miles, the final putt went in at 9pm.
Mitch Harris, Assistant Branch Manager at Keyline Willesden, commented:
“We were hoping for good weather to complete the challenge, but we certainly didn’t think it would be one of the hottest days of the year so far. It was tough, but extremely enjoyable – although we were definitely pleased to reach the 19th hole for a sit down at the end!
“A huge thank you to the guys from Wavin who were fantastic and to everyone that donated. We raised £1,000 raised for Prostate Cancer UK and the Wavin team raised an additional £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.”
As Prostate Cancer UK is Keyline’s chosen charity, the civils and drainage specialists will be undertaking several fundraising activities throughout the year to help the charity continue with its ground-breaking research.
