Selwood is bringing festive goodwill to the community after teaming up with a children’s charity to run a Christmas drawing competition and fundraising raffle.
The leading pump and plant company invited children from The Honeypot Children’s Charity to submit pictures for a fantastic festive display of designs at its headquarters in Chandler’s Ford.
The pictures, together with entries from the children of Selwood employees, are now adorning the front wall of Selwood’s headquarters in School Lane in front of the giant Christmas tree which the company is known for putting up every year.
Selwood also raised £480 for Honeypot with a Christmas raffle of an Xbox One and two Amazon Echo Dots. The charity, based in The New Forest, offers respite breaks and support to young carers and vulnerable children between the ages of five and 12, offering them a break from the stresses of home.
To continue the goodwill to the community, Selwood staff have donated items to Eastleigh Basics Bank, which will help ensure that local people experiencing financial hardship do not go without this Christmas.
Chris Garrett, CEO of Selwood, said: “We have been amazed by the incredible standard of all the designs in the competition, so we have decided that every child will be a winner.
“The team at Honeypot Children’s Charity do an incredible job in providing support for children who really need it and we are delighted to be doing our bit to help this worthwhile cause.
“Christmas is the season of goodwill and as one of the area’s longest-established businesses we are proud to be able to help.”
