-Company launches new Maternity and Paternity Leave Policy-

As we celebrate International Women’s day, Aggregate Industries, a leading player in the construction and infrastructure industries, headquartered in Bardon Hill, Leicestershire, has launched its new Maternity and Paternity Leave Policy to show its commitment to creating a more gender diverse workplace.

As part of the company’s Diversity and Inclusion Programme, the new Policy will offer mothers 18 weeks full pay during their maternity leave, as well as a six week return to work bonus, so 24 weeks in total, and fathers will now receive two weeks fully paid paternity leave.

James Roberts, Organisation & Human Resources Director at Aggregate Industries, comments: “To truly increase gender diversity in our organisation and our management teams, we realise that we need to take proactive steps to support women and men through the different stages of their careers. This is why we have launched this new Policy, which we hope will aid retention, recruitment and promotion.”

Aggregate Industries continues to invest in its Diversity and Inclusion Programme in order to ensure a more balanced workforce – with a particular focus on attracting more women. Currently, the business’ workforce population is made up of 84 per cent males and 16 per cent females. However, as part of a wider diversity and inclusion strategy, Aggregate Industries is committed to achieving a 20 per cent gender balance by 2020 and a 30 per cent gender balance by 2030.
