Bh2 continues to bring new life to Bournemouth town centre
Drone footage has been commissioned of Bh2, Bournemouth’s newest mix-use leisure centre, to mark its completion. Construction of the building was completed in October 2016 on budget and on time, for handover to tenants for fitting out, and in recent weeks Bh2 has completed the fit out phase with two family entertainment offers and is fully let.
The new complex is ideally located opposite the Hilton Hotel whilst also overlooking Bournemouth’s picturesque gardens. Bruceshaw provided full quantity surveying services on the project, working as part of a dynamic team to help deliver this high-quality development.
Lucrum Holdings, who commissioned the drone footage, were acting as Licet Holdings in conjunction with ARES, and secured planning consent to develop the 2-acre NCP Exeter Road car park in the town centre adjacent to the listed Lower Gardens.
The £30m construction phase, delivered by Vinci Construction UK, incorporates 14 restaurants offering 70,000sqft of A3 over two levels. The scheme was forward funded and is now owned by Legal & General in its Leisure Fund. The Real Greek, Nando’s, Prezzo, Chiquito’s, Five Guys, Ask Italian, TGI Fridays and Pizza Express are just a few of the world-class restaurants located in the £30m leisure complex.
Bh2 is also home to one of Odeon’s flagship cinemas, with 10 state of the art cinema screens, including a giant ‘ISENSE’ screen measuring in at 16.5m x 7m (54ft x 30ft), accompanied by sound through 56- channel speakers, equipped with 4k ultra-high definition projection system. The Odeon cinema is amongst the top performing multiplexes in the UK.
Additionally, the leisure complex also boasts convenient car parking spaces for 175 cars underneath the centre.
