Wrightstyle, the leading international supplier of advanced glazing systems, introduced a new door system in 2018 that provides 90 minutes of integrity and insulation (EI90).
The new 8050 series of thermally broken fire doors are fully compatible with Wrightstyle’s SR60 curtain walling system, and provide a new level of aesthetic appeal.
The door system is available in either single leaf (1606mm wide x 3062mm high or 1534mm wide x 3222mm high) or double leaf (3102mm wide x 3062mm high or 2958mm wide x 3222mm high).
The doors, which will accept glass up to 60mm thick, can be used as a stand-alone product or incorporated into Wrightstyle’s SR60 curtain walling system, to provide a complete screen or façade of 90 minutes integrity and insulation.
The new door system has been successfully fire tested, and can incorporate any EI-90 glass that has been tested into steel framing to a maximum glass area of 3.97 sq metres.
It adds a further option to Wrightstyle’s already extensive range of fire and smoke resistant doors, which include a range of unlatched doors in double or single leaf format – a breakthrough fully-glazed fire door system.
The new system therefore adds a further 30 minutes of protection with the significant and added benefit of thermally broken profiles.
Extensive ranges
Wrightstyle steel and aluminium ranges also extend across curtain walling, windows and internal partitioning, and the company can design, supply and install using their own trained and certified installers to deliver a complete one-stop service.
Wrightstyle systems have not only been tested to up to 120 minutes integrity and insulation, but for wind loading and ballistic attack. One of the company’s advanced systems has also been successfully live tested against both a car and lorry bomb.
Many bomb resistant glazing structures are simply tested using computer modelling techniques. Wrightstyle took their system to a specialist facility in the north of England and tested it against high explosive detonations.
During the year, Wrightstyle has completed a number of prestigious projects including several Crossrail stations in London and a project at Gloucestershire airport.
The company also supplies internationally and has completed transportation and shopping centre projects in Hong Kong, a hospital in Saudi Arabia and the Dubai metro.
Wrightstyle always advises that the glass and framing system should be specified as one integrated unit, because if one fails, both fail. Too often, in some jurisdictions, the glass and its framing system are specified separately. In contrast, all Wrighjtstyle systems are complete and guaranteed.
It may have been a year of opening doors at Wrightstyle, but the company’s steel and aluminium systems offer glazing solutions for any requirement.
