DANLERS launch Wirepas Mesh networking controls range

UK manufacturer, DANLERS Limited, has partnered with Wirepas, a leading provider of mesh networking technology, to enable DANLERS lighting controls with mesh based wireless connectivity. This expands the range of Wirepas enabled devices available to the growing number of lighting control system vendors and OEMs using Wirepas Mesh in their products and solutions.

Wirepas Mesh (WM) is a unique decentralized wireless communication protocol enabling Industrial IoT networking at an unprecedented scale, flexibility and reliability, minimizing and optimizing energy usage with the added benefit of providing real time data analytics. These characteristics are well suited when lighting is deployed as an IoT platform in addition to wireless lighting control.

All DANLERS WM sensors with daylight control communicate wirelessly using the Wirepas Mesh technology to form a mesh network built on standard Bluetooth chips. The DANLERS WM range provides essential building blocks to create effective energy saving solutions such as occupancy control and light level control. Photocell settings, time out, override settings etc. are fully configurable while each device has integral intelligence enabling localised decision making while cooperating with the network.

All Wirepas empowered controls operate as a distributed mesh network with no central controller and no single point of failure. This means that the networks, which can consist of an unlimited amount of nodes, are self-healing and constantly optimizing performance. This happens link-by-link taking into account local radio conditions, so that if any device (node) goes offline it will connect to others when it comes back online.

The WM protocol uses industry standard encryption and device authentication solutions that prevent unauthorized access to the lighting network. Designed to protect itself against malicious attacks the Wirepas Mesh is secure and dependable.

The system minimizes set-up costs as no additional infrastructure is required – the devices themselves form the network and decide for themselves how to operate to extend the coverage range. The automatic operation enables quick and easy installation.

Ongoing running costs are also kept to a minimum as the self-healing operation maintains the network continuously. Over the air programming (OTAP) enables remote updates for installed devices.

John Woodhouse, Marketing Manager at DANLERS commented, “DANLERS controls empowered by Wirepas firmware can create large scale lighting control solutions that not only maximise energy efficiency, gather data and improve occupant comfort but are also scalable, flexible and cost effective.”

Parjinder Sangha, Director of Product Marketing for Smart Lighting at Wirepas said, “It’s a pleasure to welcome such an established lighting brand to the Wirepas eco-system. Our customers creating lighting control systems will be able to take immediate advantage of the trustworthy and dependable hardware solutions from DANLERS. We look forward to working with the DANLERS’ team to introduce the product range to the growing number of Wirepas licensees creating lighting control solutions.”

DANLERS extensive range of mesh network controls are suitable for most applications including: industrial warehousing, commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality and many more. For further details please contact our sales team.
