nmcn awarded place on innovative public sector procurement programme

National construction contractor nmcn (formerly North Midland Construction Plc) has been awarded a place on a prestigious Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) aimed at making public sector construction procurement a more efficient process.

The national construction company, which has twelve offices across the UK, has been awarded a place on the Efficiency East Midlands and Westworks (EEM) on its construction DPS.

The EEM DPS is made up of 144 social housing providers and other public sector organisations across the UK with a common goal of making efficiencies across the build and management of housing and non-residential public sector construction. nmcn has been selected to work on projects of up to £4.5m each across the East Midlands, West Midlands and Yorkshire and The Humber.

John Homer, nmcn chief executive, said: “This new award is testament to our experience of working with the public sector. The DPS represents a different way of working for public sector construction contracts across both residential and non-housing projects, something we’re pleased to play a part in.

“As an approved contractor on the EEM DPS, we will be drawing on many years of experience working on public sector builds to help achieve a more efficient and effective way of construction.”

The EEM agreement will run for 10 years with a potential one year extension beyond that. nmcn is committed to compliance with the DPS including for financial performance, health and safety, equality and diversity and working practices.
