Specialist offshore engineering and design consultancy, Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions Ltd (GDG), is delighted to announce the appointment of a new Director (offshore) and welcomes Dr Indrasenan Thusyanthan to the business.
Dr Thusyanthan’s career to this point makes him the perfect appointment for this role, being a recognised expert in the field of offshore engieering. Most recently he was the Chief Geotechnical Engineer at Atkins, one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies. Before that he held several other key positions, including roles at Saudi Aramco and Acteon (Singapore), as well as having been a lecturer at the University of Cambridge.
He brings with him extensive offshore project experience in conceptual to detailed design around the world (UK, South East Asia and Middle East), he headed the St Brieuc windfarm foundation design and has been an expert witness with experience in arbitration.
His personal achievements are equally impressive: he graduated with a first class degree and PhD from University of Cambridge, he has been the recipient of the “John Henry King Medal” and the “Bill Curtin Medal” from the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) UK and his in-depth technical knowledge in offshore geotechnics has led to over 75 Journal and Conference Publications. He is also a Fellow of ICE and Chartered Marine Engineer.
Dr. Thusyanthan‘s role within GDG is as a Director with a key focus on the offshore renewable sector. His experience will support him as he drives GDG’s business forward, with technical advancements in consultancy and design services. He will grow new services in the offshore sector and provide technical assurance for offshore projects.
