SALFORD CITY IS SCORING WITH NEW GROUND ON SCHEDULE @wedgegalv

Redevelopments taking place at a high-profile National League North ground are progressing on schedule, according to two organisations involved in the works.

Following the much-publicised takeover of Salford City FC by several former Manchester United players, Stadium Solutions is seeing development continue to steam ahead, thanks to the support from its supplier, Wessex Galvanizers Ltd, which is providing long-term protection to the steelwork used to build the new ground, which includes new spectator stands, a sponsor and director facility block and a two-storey clubhouse.

Wessex Galvanizers (part of Wedge Group Galvanizing) has been working alongside the team at Stadium Solutions to provide its hot-dip galvanizing treatment to all steelwork used on the large-scale redevelopment to ensure that the grandstands are long-lasting without the need for regular maintenance. The new ground is set to be fully complete in early 2018.

Phill Harris, CEO and Founder of Stadium Solutions, explained: “We won this high-profile contract at Salford City FC in late 2016 and were required to completely rebuild the ground, as well as demolish all existing stands and facilities. The new spectator stands surrounding the pitch have already been constructed, which include two 12-tread standing terraces behind each goal, and two six-row stands spanning the entire length of the pitch on both sides.

“All of our stands are fully galvanized which really sets us apart from the competition, and with this project being a high-profile one with the involvement of the Class of ’92 consisting of Phil Neville, Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt, it was especially important to use the treatment on all aspects for a long-lasting build that can stand the test of time. Thanks to the team at Wessex for their services as part of this project – we’re all very much looking forward to seeing it in its final glory next year.”

Richard Whiddett, Commercial Manager at Wessex Galvanizers, commented. “We’ve been providing our services to Stadium Solutions for many years now and this particular project has seen us galvanize steel used to build a new facilities block behind the north stand at Salford City, a two-storey clubhouse due to go at the rear of the south stand, plus various other elements including turnstiles and dugouts. The new ground has not only attracted attention from across the football world but it’s bringing together the local community of Salford and surrounding areas, which makes it an incredibly rewarding project to be involved in.”
